Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony between Rich Talents International College and the Malaysian Food and Beverage Executive Association (MFBEA)

The culinary industry in Malaysia is one of the fastest growing service industries contributing towards the need for skilled manpower, especially in the hospitality and tourism sectors. This scenario has a positive impact on the country's economic growth. This culinary field is recognized and labeled as a professional career that requires expertise and creativity.

In line with that, Rich Talents International College (RTIC) has established a strategic partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Malaysian Food and Beverage Executive Association (MFBEA). This initiative is not only able to meet the aspirations of the goal of improving education, but can also be used as a basis for promoting excellence in the food and beverage industry to continue to thrive.

Through this collaboration, students will benefit through close working relationships with industry professionals.

Malaysian Food and Beverage Executives Association (MFBEA) was established in 1988. The establishment of this association is to represent the interests of F&B professionals, raise the image of the industry and upgrade standards in the hospitality industry in Malaysia.

According to the founder of RTiC, Prof. Datuk Chef Zamzani, "The hospitality and tourism sector is an important contributor to the country's GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and it continues to grow. Therefore, every effort must be made to ensure that students receive the best training before entering the career world.

Collaborating with organizations like MFBEA helps regulate industry standards, strengthen quality and educate students and provide opportunities to gain the exposure needed to build a more rewarding career.

Through this effort, students will benefit through close working relationships with industry professionals, as well as gain a competitive advantage through exposure to networks and skills outside the SKM curriculum.

This memorandum of understanding with MFBEA will provide an opportunity for students to learn how to organize an event from experienced industry professionals," he stressed.

Among the objectives through this collaboration:

  1. Institutional exchange between faculty and staff from RTiC institutions.
  2. Organization of symposiums, conferences, short courses and meetings on research issues.
  3. Exchange of information related to developments in studies, student development and research.
  4. Collaboration in research and publication projects between MFBEA and partner institutions.
  5. Promote and evaluate programs and activities organized by both organizations to ensure they follow the highest standards of quality and continued success.
  6. RTiC students will be members of MFBEA for three years, gaining access, services and great opportunities. Exchange students will help promote MFBEA's mission and have the opportunity to build community.

Rich Talents International College was established in March 2021 and has been fully operational since January 2022 until now it has 130 students given study funding through collaboration with government agencies including the Skill Development Fund Corporation (PTPK), the MAIDAM Terengganu Education Foundation, and the Selangor Zakat Board.
